Mike snatched up his phone as soon as it buzzed. He said, “Hey, John,” with a tone of relief. Mike exhaled as some of his anxiousness subsided when John said, “Mike, take it easy, alright? Don’t do anything rash until you have more info. Panicking won’t help.” This was always the result of John’s cool attitude. Mike said, “Yeah, you’re right. I’ll keep my eyes open and wait for more details,” as he began to get more composed.

Later, unable to get rid of his uneasiness, Mike strolled in the direction of a “Staff Only” area. He wanted more than ambiguous guarantees, but he knew he shouldn’t be there. He slid in the door, looking around to make sure no one noticed him. Potential secrets hummed in the calm of the hallway.
