Neive, Piedmont- Medieval romance in the vineyards
The village literally tops the rural beauty of Piedmont: high up on the lush green hills between Langhe and Monferrato, picturesque houses nestled close together are enthroned. The medieval town center offers a breathtaking view of the vineyards – the area that is world-famous for the Barbaresco red wine.
Tellaro, Liguria
In the crooked alleyways of Tellaro, a magical blossom unfolds that you normally only see in beautifully landscaped gardens. The colorful houses with their vintage facades populate the rocks down to the sea. The poets Percy Bysshe Shelley, Viginia Woolf and George Byron felt themselves inspired by the idyll of the fishing village of Etruscan origin and the bewitching landscape of this area – this is why the bay on the east coast of Liguria was named Golfo dei Poeti, Gulf of Poets. After all, Tremosine is 414 meters above sea level on a plateau that slopes steeply to the western shore of the lake and belongs to the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano nature reserve. The municipality includes 18 districts, of which only one – Campione – is located on the lake. The panoramic road that leads from the harbor through a ravine (which was also the setting in the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace”) up to the plateau is considered to be one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
Torre Di Palme
The “Borgo” on a rocky promontory stands out from afar – one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic coast. On its steep slopes, it is framed by a nature reserve. The village of 300 souls, founded by the Picenians in the sixth century BC, has retained its medieval appearance to this day. The small historic houses with beautifully planted terracotta flower pots in front of the door have been carefully restored.
Sovana, Toskana
“Città del tufo” is called Sovana, the city of tufa. On this volcanic rock stands the place that was built by the Etruscans and is located in the Maremma, which is criss-crossed by forests, pastures and olive groves.
