10 Essentials You Need To Bring To The Beach

Going to the beach is always such a fun experience, soaking up some sun and playing in the sand. It’s the perfect summer day activity. Whether you are on vacation somewhere tropical or going to the beach closest to you for a day of relaxation, there are basics that everyone needs to take to have the best beach day. These are essentials that will ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable beach day.

A Tote

First thing’s first: A tote to carry all your belongings in. This simple and classic bag will fit so much more than you’d expect, which is why it’s perfect for this purpose. It will fit everything you could possibly need on a day lounging by the ocean.

Sunscreen

Of course, a day out cannot be enjoyed without sunscreen. It’s always important to protect your skin wherever you are to prevent any sun damage and burns. There are different kinds of sunscreens that work with different types of skin, so you’re better off finding the one that works for you. Don’t forget to reapply throughout the day!

Water

Another no-brainer, water. Being out in the hot sun raises the risk of dehydration drastically. So make sure to bring a large amount of water that you know will last you the entire day.

A Hat

Another thing you need on the beach is a wide-brimmed hat of any kind. Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of hats, there are so many different kinds that you can easily find one you will love and want to wear. Hats are a great way to protect the head from the sun and to prevent heatstroke.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must when spending time out in the sun. The eyes are so sensitive, and prolonged sun exposure can lead to eye problems in the future. Just make sure your sunglasses are effective against UV rays.

A Cover-Up

While you might want to get a tan and stay out in the sun, you’re better off bringing along a cover-up and staying in the shade as much as possible. Besides the risks of sunburn and heatstroke, being in the sun a lot can lead to aging, wrinkles, and age spots on the skin.

Flip Flops

Bring along flip flops so you won’t have to hurt your feet trying to walk along the burning sand. This way you’ll be able to relax a little more.

A Towel

A towel at the beach is a must. Aside from helping you dry off after a dip in the water, you can lie on it to avoid being covered in too much sand.

Snacks

Being out in the sun can make you very hungry. Make sure to bring some snacks or food along to keep your energy levels up.

Lip Balm With SPF

Some people may not realize this, but your lips can get sunburned too. We can assure you it hurts just as much as any other sunburn. Luckily, there are lip balms with SPF in them to prevent just that.
